Self-branding- Stamps.

My practice is beginning to develop towards more print based media. At this stage I am still uncomfortable with screen print so another alternative which I have found is stamps. This can be used to quickly and easily replicate my brand identity and complimenting shapes across a range of products and materials. This will allow me to reproduce my self promotion quickly ready to send out straight away. The stamp also gives the hand crafted and personalised feeling which comes with print and shows off my new growing interests and love for hand craft.

CoP Books.

Below are the two books which have gotten me through my CoP work and I have enjoyed them both massively. The 'Critical texts on type' is possibly one of the best ones which I have been introduced to recently and can say now that it has changed my view on the direction of my own practice. Before this process I was unsure of my passion for typography but now I feel like I have been re connected and influenced once again by type design and it is something which I want to pursuit further. Unlike the other book which is for digital based design, although the book itself is really helpful I feel that my CoP work has really influenced my practice to change I have realised my love for print and need to change some of my extended practice briefs accordingly. I have struggled a lot with digital through this experience of the module and it is no longer as enjoyable as it was at the beginning of the year. Maybe my influences as a designer have changed as I have developed again over the first semester.
